FOLLOW MY JOURNEY ON DA COME UP IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AS A NEW INDEPENDENT HIP HOP ARTIST.
I PROMISE YOU WILL LAUGH, CRY, CELEBRATE AND TRIUMPH WITH ME.
The origin for the Hip-Hop culture seems to point to the birthplace of Shay Boogie....the Boogie down Bronx in New York City. Raised in the Edenwald Projects, a place where dreams are sometimes blurred by poverty, negativity and other distractions of the streets, Shay was able to find the start of what soon would flourish into her purpose. Writing became a way to express her inner feelings and thoughts. Queen Latifah served as a role model and defining inspiration for the young black female rapper in pursuit of respect and acceptance. “The Queen taught me to respect and embrace being a woman. That is what I want to give back to the young women of the next generation.” As the dawn of a new hip-hop era emerges, molded and shaped by Icons and Legends that have come before, Shay Boogie stands at the forefront of music.

SHAY BOOGIE BIO AND PICS

As the dawn of a new hip-hop era emerges, molded and shaped by Icons and Legends that have come before, the premiere female artist, Shay Boogie, stands at the forefront of music. Showing her amazing Artistry and Writing skills on her debut album "Flow N' Hustle" now available on www.cdbaby.com/shayboogie , Itunes, Amazon and many other digital outlets. It has already received raved reviews from the critics, calling it a “Lyrical Masterpiece. With songs like “Diamond Rims” which represents speaking things into existence, Shay is no stranger to striving for what she wants in life and doing what it takes to make it happen. “IF I” was written and recorded in one day,” it would explore grief and lost endured in the street. It is also a dedication to people that have lost family members and friends to violence, Hurricane Katrina and 9/11. The next track “It Need Me,” has a more trip hop vibe, showing Shay’s versatility as an artist. The Dezra Nauls guest spot has an old school bluesy feel that brings the track “It Needs Me” to life, exploring her views on fame and fortune, while staying modest and humble. The track is “telling listeners to look out for me because I am here to rewrite the book on female hip-hop. Every generation has artists, that rewrites the story and this album is my book. The other special track featuring DeanLoc “Choppin’ Paper” showcases Shay’s swagger in the form that says; I know what it takes to make it happen. Capturing the cultural zeitgeist and personal experience, her first mixtape “Ladies First Volume 1” was released in January 2007, cementing her status as one of the most promising up and coming entertainers of today.

Shay has been featured on several compilations including “U.C.M. Vol. 1, Pimps, Hustlas & Stunnas, this young artist is out to prove to the world that talent is not defined by superficial qualities, but by the drive and ambition that begins in the heart. Shay is determined to show what Reaching "New Levels" is all about. I.C.O.N. Magazine, Jam Source Magazine, Nanci O Radio Show and also being featured on the “Boss Chicks of H-town DVD and many many others, Shay is determined to entertain and educate others through music. As a new inductee into the National Assoc. of Professional Women, Shay Boogie lays down a foundation that is destined to take her to Mogul status. ,.

To me it’s not all about getting rich, but enriching young lives through truth and not just what they want to hear. It was best said by T.I., when he called haters “motivation.” The rap world is strongly influenced by male artist, Shay admits that she must endure a lot of disbelief in her craft and her choice to become a hip-hop artist, it’s just who I am, it’s in my blood.

Small town rappers get no cred? Well I'm about to change that.. Names Carlos and I'm a puerto rican rapper fresh out of a little town called Avon Park Florida.. Heard of it? Didn't think so but you will..I have one of.. If not THE most diverse flows around.. Like Big Pun said "what you want hardcore? Lyrical? rnb? What you wanna dance? I GOT IT" English? Spanish? Both? It doesn't matter.. I'm not a punchline rapper, I'm not a lyrical rapper, a conscious rapper because those titles do nothing but limit you... I do it all on any beat expect nothing less than to be blown away. I don't rap about things I don't do.. I don't put on gimmicks.. I'm bring to the table what the real artists from back in the day used to..    www.facebook.com/itslosmusic

RISSE CAKKES WANTS U TO TAKE A SIP OF HER "PINK LEMONADE"

Risse Cakkes

A blossoming feminine force looms over Houston’s artistic terrain. It coils an innovative path through the testosterone-flushed stream of hip-hop. And in its wake, it resurrects the flat-lining existence of the female MC. It will stand and take its place amongst Houston’s hip-hop royalty. Prepare for the emerging force of Risse Cakkes.

Brooklyn, New York welcomed the birth of Risse Cakkes (born Cherisse Rutherford) and passed down a lineage of musical greatness. As the daughter of a reggae DJ, and cousin of platinum rapper Busta Rhymes the influence of music coursed her veins at an early age. Later, her eyes would flicker with musical dreams after witnessing the electrifying aura of R&B princess, Aaliyah and the ruff styles of Tupac Shakur. The late singer’s dynamic stage presence and hip-hop tinged R&B style inspired Risse Cakkes to take to the stage in developing her own musical talent.

Having migrated to Houston as a child, Risse Cakkes began honing her chops as a rapper by participating in local talent shows. She would eventually give group performing a nod, joining a local female rap quartet named The Smileys. Upon the group’s disbandment, Risse Cakkes went on to record several songs for DJ Bigga Boss’s underground mix CD which was performed at the 2004 super Bowl Car Show in Texas. This opportunity paved the way for various performances in and around the city of Houston, Tyler Texas and Lubbock Texas.

Risse Cakkes has expanded her artistic repertoire by developing her skills as a song writer, model and actress. As a product of Talents international and Page Parks School for Modeling and Acting, she appear in an independent film entitled, Street Tales of Terror and a recent film called Elbows and Vogues.

Risse Cakkes aims to prove that she can keep pace with the current reap industry’s male elite, while maintaining her femininity. She approaches her craft and audience with rhyme delivery that is no-nonsense, yet with a persona that is sultry and intoxicating.

Look for her to leave an indelible mark on the entertainment world. Her multi-talented skill as well as her fierceness on the mic will seal Risse Cakkes’s dreams of becoming the female heir to Houston’s hip-hop throne.
